Thank you everyone for your tips... I emailed a bunch of B&Bs/hotels yesterday and hopefully we find something although I have received a few responses advising they are fully booked. Fingers crossed!!

I Googled (Medoc bed & breakfast)& found several local spots. I suspect the earlier responder is right: Do it now, before registration opens.

Having done this before, one bit of advice I'd give is book it now - before the reservation opens. Once it does, everything will be booked and you'll have to use the shuttle from Bordeaux, which is about an hour away. That makes for an early start - and hassle if you're doing fancy dress. You can always cancel if needs be.

I'm coming with a group of Brits and we find the best way is just to rent a house in the town. Google the tourist board, they have numbers for most accommodation providers.

Oh, and if you've not done it before: it's great fun!
